MAS6031   Special Topics 1   (10 credits)

Description

This unit will allow well-qualified students, who are already familiar with material in existing optional or core units, or for whom it is educationally appropriate, to undertake study in a specialist area. Teaching will usually be by directed reading, and assessment will usually be by project work Possibilities for areas include further study of: Medical Statistics; Time Series; Multivariate Analysis; and introductions to: Extreme Values; Queueing Theory; Spatial Processes; Non-parametric and Semi-parametric methods.
